I have a special place in my heart for this particular apparel line, Beyond Yoga. When I was in college, we carried it at a La Jolla boutique where I worked. We all loved and wore the clothing constantly in and out of the store.

When the brand launched diamond-quilted leggings, we went positively feral! All the girls scooped them up before customers could even get their hands on them. I had them in black and white. I hope they bring them back one day. Of course, all of this was nearly twenty years ago. The brand has only gotten bigger and better since.

Comfort Level

If you find tight, spandex leggings uncomfortable, you may be surprised by the soft stretchiness of Beyond Yoga’s fabric. These don’t dig in or cause the “too tight” feeling like some other athletic brands.

Personally, these are the leggings I reach for when I want to wear something comfortable, and stretchy, but not as tight as my typical gym leggings.

Do Beyond Yoga leggings stay up?

Yes! While they are not as tight as some other compression leggings, they can stay up during workouts. As their name suggests, they work well for yoga, pilates, walks, and other low-impact exercises.

Size Inclusivity

One of the best things about Beyond Yoga is they offer a wide range of sizes. From XXS to 4X, Beyond Yoga has many options available. They even have a maternity line and a few items in toddler sizes. On their website, it’s called “Match Your Mini,” which is adorable.

Sadly, the boutique where I worked during college is no longer open. Luckily, Beyond Yoga apparel is still available at many retailers. Of course, the place with the best selection of new items, fresh colors, and extensive size is the brand’s website.

Who owns Beyond Yoga?

According to the company’s website, Beyond Yoga was co-founded in 2005 by Michelle Waller Adams and Jodi Guber Brufsky. The brand was purchased in 2021 by Levi Strauss & Co., with Adams and Brufsky still holding executive positions.

With their thick, supportive waistband and soft material, these will be your new favorite. If you buy one thing from this brand, start with these.

If you’re on the shorter side or have a short torso, this won’t be very cropped on you. For those of us on the petite side, it’s a perfect-length workout tank.
