How do Ally Shoes Fit?
After taking their perfect fit quiz, I ordered a 37C. This turned out to be inaccurate. Though I don’t normally wear wide shoes, I do find most toe boxes too tight and small.
Typically, I wear a 7.5, normal width. However, the 37 C was too long. It was way too tight for anyone with severe bunions. If you have that issue, definitely order the extra wide in this style.
Like many of my styling clients, I have moderate to severe foot issues. I’m always scouring the stores for comfortable stylish shoes.
I would say if you have any similar issues, like bunions, order the C or even the D width in the heels.
I will note that even the 37 was a bit too long for me, so I ended up putting heel grip liners at the back. However, this still didn’t give enough grip and my feet were slipping out.
Fortunately, Ally has excellent customer service and I was able to exchange sizes easily with no hassle at all. However, these are not something to purchase last minute. Many styles are made to order. Plan your Ally orders 3-6 weeks before any events.
Overall, Ally’s shoes run narrow and long. Size down in length and up in width. I ended up sizing down a whole size, from 7.5 to 6.5.
Thoughts on Ally Heels Designs
Devastatingly, I’ve been unable to wear pointed-toe shoes for several years. Once one of my favorite shoe styles, I just couldn’t deal with the tightness in the toe area anymore.
When the box arrived, the packaging was very nice. I like how each shoe came in its own individual dust cover so they didn’t damage each other in transit. What a thoughtful and luxurious touch!
The leather is buttery soft and smooth. The insole feels soft and luxurious too. To be honest, their leather feels and looks better than some of the high-end designer shoes. Ally’s superior shoe is also a fraction of the cost!
Are Ally Shoes Actually Comfortable?
Yes! Remember a whole paragraph ago when I said I couldn’t wear pointed-toe heels anymore? In comes ALLY shoes to save the day! Fortunately, the lower block heel didn’t squeeze my toes at all.
In fact, when I tried them on, I was impressed by the metatarsal pads. It reminded me of my favorite pair of hiking boots. You can really tell these were developed with foot health in mind.
As someone who has pain in the ball of my foot (aka metatarsalgia), I appreciated that the padding took some of the pressure off of that area.
How Long Can I Wear Ally Shoes?
Upon the first time wearing them straight out of the box, I wore them for two hours.
As someone who lives in sandals and sneakers, even a comfortable heel like Ally’s can take some getting used to.
Normally, when I try on a heel, I have to rip it off my foot within two minutes. The fact that I… forgot I was wearing these? It’s truly a miracle.
What are they appropriate for?
Ally has a ton of footwear options now, branching out from their famously comfortable heels. You can find elegant flats, ankle boots, and evening shoes in addition to their classic work-appropriate pumps.
The flats and boots can be paired with almost any casual outfit. Planning to wear the rose gold or silver shimmer pumps? Those styles look best with evening wear.
For myself, I am planning to try the ankle boots next. They’ll go nicely with my fall work uniform of a bodysuit, jeans, and a leather jacket.
